Christian Dior Haute Couture Spring/Summer 2012


The Luxury Collection Hotels & Resorts, a glittering ensemble of over 75 hotels and resorts in more than 35 countries, has reunited Waris Ahluwalia with Luca Guadagnino, the director of their Golden Globe-nominated film, I Am Love to create a cinematic experience that offers a glimpse into the hidden treasures of some of America's favorite destinations. The short film stars Agyness Deyn with music by Jason Schwartzman and Woody Jackson, and was shot at three of The Luxury Collection's most iconic properties across the United States, aiming to inspire global travelers to explore and discover destinations in a unique and authentic way.

As an impassioned traveler and The Luxury Collection's newest Global Explorer, Ahluwalia, conceived the project with Luca Guadagnino, Sandro Kopp and Tilda Swinton, who gratefully acknowledged The Luxury Collection's philanthropic contribution towards the foundation of a new school for the inspired education of teenagers in the Scottish Highlands. The brand's mantra, "Life Is A Collection of Experiences. Let Us Be Your Guide," led the creative direction for the team to explore the unexpected joys of a cross-country journey. From the stately Equinox in Vermont, to the sun-soaked beauty of the Phoenician in Arizona, and across the Pacific to the legendary Royal Hawaiian, Agyness Deyn is the muse styled by costume designer Heidi Bivens with hair and makeup by Nico Guillis. The short film is produced by Waris Ahluwalia and Lucy Cooper through New York production house ALLDAYEVERYDAY.

"The American continent offers great diversity, great beauty and great adventure - the film captures this spirit through The Luxury Collection’s exceptional destinations."

Showroom Belgium makes its first appearance at London Fashion Week.
From 17 to 21 February 2012, four Belgium based designers will present their collections at Somerset House.
Flanders Fashion Institute asked us to design a video installation to be featured during this event.
The video was shot entirely at the Royal Museum of Fine Arts in Antwerp, which is currently closed for renovations until 2017. The video makes use of this unique location.
Like the museum's art pieces, the model, featuring pieces from the designers' collection, is carefully wrapped, stored and transported to other destinations ...

A multitude of loafers go flying and blue suede desert boots walk the confines of a wooden crate in this playful short from filmmaker Marcus Gaab. Showcasing No_Code, the new capsule collection from iconic Italian luxury house Tod's, the film features all four paired-down styles in a range of seasonal colors. Inspired by Dazed & Confused magazine's visionary co-founder Jefferson Hack, No_Code's versatile but timeless designs are intended for both men and women. “The collection is really in sync, but each shoe is also wholly unique so I wanted to create something that played up each shoe’s specific characteristics,” says Gaab of his decision to display the collection in an array of animated scenes. Designed with the cosmopolitan nomad in mind, the collection is lightweight and crafted in Tod’s signature quality leathers and suede to transition easily from casual daytime use to more formal nocturnal scenarios. “There’s an easiness about the styles, they are minimal and can work in different contexts,” adds Gaab. “They can be sleek and simple, but also a bit more pop and fun, so it’s all about seeing them from different perspectives.
