Absolut Pugh

“I wanted to create something epic for my collaboration with ABSOLUT. I feel it was important to attempt to enhance the silhouette of the iconic ABSOLUT bottle shape, as after all, shape, proportion and silhouette are the building blocks for any designer. I began by thinking of an ‘ABSOLUT Gareth Pugh’ and I decided to choose an outfit from my archive, something that I feel captures the essence of my work which I could use to ‘dress’ the ABSOLUT Mode Edition bottle and in a very abstract way” - Gareth Pugh

Azulejo

"In Portugal, the Azulejo tile is more than a mere decorative element of little intrinsic value. It has been an important medium for Portuguese artistic expression for more than five centuries."
History is once again retold, this time inserted in the "add fuel to the fire" universe - the work of Diogo Machado; where the Azulejo tile is turned into a mass of colour, characters, shapes and details.

Legacy - Now Is Our Time

your life is your life, don’t let it be clubbed into dank submission. be on the watch. there are ways out. there is a light somewhere. it may not be much light but
it beats the darkness. be on the watch. the gods will offer you chances. know them.
take them. you can’t beat death but you can beat death in life, sometimes. and the more often you learn to do it, the more light there will be. your life is your life.
know it while you have it. you are marvelous, the gods wait to delight, in you.

Soulland Spring/Summer 2012

The Postmodern collection references post inspired items like the striped mailman shirt, the mailman blazer and Post Danmark logo sweaters. I really enjoy working with uniforms but it can leave a collection looking a bit hard, so I softened up the feeling for spring/summer by adding roses to the inspirational mix.” - Silas Adler, Soulland designer.

floppy disk art

"I find inspiration in everything. It all goes into the mix and comes out the other side as a simple image. I am especially interested in the notion that everything is in constant flux. Through our best efforts at preservation people attempt to make things permanent, but nature relentlessly breaks everything back down and creates new forms. Technology is important as we are now reaching a point where the social concept of reality is in the process of being completely overhauled." - Nick Gentry
