The 4th Dimension

This experimental film by Academy Award winning independent filmaker/director Zbigniew Rybczynski, as the title implies, is an exploration of capturing alternative manifestations of time on motion pictures. I was supervising optical cameraman, operating a customized aerial-image projector augmented Master Oxberry animation stand. The original live-action was shot high-speed at 72 fps to give it a slow dream-like quality. The work on the Oxberry required 480 separate exposures on every frame of 35mm film to create the final effect. The footage seen here are excerpts from the almost 1/2 hour of screen-time produced.
