What is your definition of love?

When someone speaks of love, the risk is to come out sounding sickeningly sweet or bitter. Love is a universal breeze that envelops and disarranges whomever. Love lets us go out of ourselves, it is centrifugal, it is like playing chess, we are pawns, naked, and nothing can be hidden. Love is an unexpected greediness as well. At the beginning of a new affair, it’s all red roses. Love grows inside us so quickly that we cannot see straight. It takes our breath away like being cut by a knife. It is like a karst river that may disappear beneath the surface, deviate unpredictably, and then reappear and suck us back in.
We do not command love, but we can tame it. Then we get used to it, like logging into your daily email. Then, as soon as you’re in, you are confronted with a layer that’s locked, like a PDF file labeled love that you cannot open.
