In an eccentric, old-school laundromat, a young man is lulled into a daydream while waiting for his wash cycle to finish. Laundry is a quirky and colorful film that juxtaposes the mundane with the magical.

As a student of Kafka, Koestler, and Solzhenitsyn, he believed that truth, creativity, love, and compassion are corrupted by institutional hierarchies, and by “patronage networks”—one of his favorite expressions—that contort the human spirit. He sketched out a manifesto of sorts, titled “Conspiracy as Governance,” which sought to apply graph theory to politics. Assange wrote that illegitimate governance was by definition conspiratorial—the product of functionaries in “collaborative secrecy, working to the detriment of a population.” He argued that, when a regime’s lines of internal communication are disrupted, the information flow among conspirators must dwindle, and that, as the flow approaches zero, the conspiracy dissolves. Leaks were an instrument of information warfare.”

Craig Ward and Ian Wright: (2015) RED Artists

Originally hailing from rural Lincolnshire, Craig Ward is a New York based typographer and illustrator who likes playing with words. Craig brings headlines to life, creating new typographic treatments and continuously exploring the notion of word as image. Earlier this year, Craig met one of his design idols, Ian Wright. They immediately decided to find a project to partner on. Lucky for us, they collaborated on the (RED)’s 2015 campaign.
Ian’s work has spanned four decades and has been exhibited internationally, including numerous high-profile editorials and record sleeves. Craig and Ian used raffia rope to carefully create our headline and number by dissembling then twisting, knotting and braiding.
