In Detail — AE16 Trainers

What makes a shoe? Is it the brand, the shape, or the function? More importantly, what makes a shoe different from the thousands upon thousands in the world? We can’t say that we have found all the answers just yet, but we can suggest starting at the beginning—the inspiration.
Inspired by the work of Ellsworth Kelly and Brice Marden, the AE16 Trainer is all about texture, contours, and color. Monochromatic planes of texture and material combine to create a shoe that is basic and beautiful, a shoe in its purest form.
